WHERE DO I STAY IN LEH

Some 2 decades ago in 2000, when I first visited Leh, stay options were limited to budget hotels with basic facilities & a handful of luxurious hotels. In fact, a majority of the tourists were adventure seeking foreigners with a very minor percentage of Indians. However, after the release of the mega buster movie “3 IDIOTS” in 2009, tourists have started flocking in Leh throughout the year, irrespective of the seasons. 

Travel & Tourism being the main business governing the economy, Ladakh region has started seeing an increased influx of tourists. Tourism has scaled multifold horizons & Leh have seen a stupendous increase in the inflow of Indian tourists. Secondly, being directly connected to major cities in India by Air, Leh has become the most sought after destination for nature & adventure lovers. At one point of time, Ladakh was only perceived as an adventurer’s paradise. Now the whole of Ladakh region has become a family destination, honeymooners paradise & an adventure lovers home.

To match the increasing demand of a wide segment of tourist with all kinds of tastes & classes, a wide plethora of Hotels are now available which can cater to all the budget requirements of the tourists. Typically, Leh has become a hub of tourism with a choice of a wide range of hotels as per your budgetary needs. Other destinations like NUBRA valley, PANGONG TSO & TSOMORIRI may not offer the luxurious stay options comparable to Leh, but have greatly advanced in terms of providing unique experiences to the tourist.
